Dakar, Senegal OCTOBER 10th -14th 2005

OBJECTIVES

• To share the results of social research and the guided interventions of different African countries concerning the vulnerability of African populations, particularly the vulnerability of women and children faced with HIV/AIDS and the impacts of the epidemic.

• To inform researchers, policy-makers, donators, the private sector, NGOs, community representatives and all of the other pertinent parties and their activities with the SAHARA network.

• To reinforce the cooperation and coordination of SAHARA, in order to have an all-encompassing, large and efficient network as well as an alliance of deciding partners whom accomplish and support quality research allowing to undertake policies and appropriate actions.

• To realize a concept plan, policies and methods, a synergy that will allow responses to relative questions concerning the prevention and the access to treatment and care.

• To inform policy-makers, the private sector, NGOs, government representatives and inter-state organizations of the themes cited above.
